Sheriff Nathan “Bud” York has an extensive resume in law enforcement that began with the New York State Police in 1977. Eleven years later, he was promoted to the Bureau of Criminal Investigation. During his storied career, he worked on over 200 child sexual abuse cases and investigated 75 homicides with 74 of those being closed by arrest. As a member of the State Police’s Major Crimes Task Force, Investigator York served as a liaison to the numerous police agencies in a ten county area. He has taught lead investigation desk management at major crime seminars, in addition to teaching at the New York State Police Academy. He was elected Sheriff in November of 2007 and now heads the full service Warren County Sheriff’s Office, with a service territory of 940 square miles. The Sheriff is married and the proud father of 7 children and 14 grandchildren.
