Reuel A. (“Moe”) Todd is currently serving a third term in the Office of Sheriff of Oswego County, having first been elected in 1998. He continues a 30 year plus law enforcement career, climbing through the ranks of Sergeant, Criminal Investigator and Undersheriff with the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office. As Undersheriff, he was active in the planning and construction of a new public safety building/correctional facility and played a pivotal role in getting the Sheriff’s Law Enforcement Division accredited by the NYS Division of Criminal Justice Services. Since becoming Sheriff, he has assured that his Office continues to adhere to high professional standards. The Office received law enforcement re-accreditation in 2003. The Sheriff has received extensive training in law enforcement, corrections administration, and civil process and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy. He has served the State Office of Homeland Security as Chairman of the Counter-Terrorism Committee, Zone 7 and remains an active member serving on the Statewide Counter-Terrorism Executive Committee. He is active in numerous community programs. During 2007, he served as President of the New York State Sheriffs’ Association, an organization in which he has been active for over 20 years. Sheriff Todd is married to the former Valerie Clark and they have two children and one granddaughter. Oswego County has a population of 122,377 and an area of 968 square miles.
