Lee Price has spent 39 years with the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office. He began his career as a Deputy Sheriff in 1968. Five years later, he was appointed Sergeant. His rise through the ranks continued in 1979, when he was promoted to the position of Lieutenant. In 1989, Sheriff Duane Whiteman named Price as his Undersheriff. In 1999, Lee Price was elected Sheriff of Cortland County. The Sheriff has been happily married for 42 years. He has 8 children and 13 grandchildren. Price has attended numerous seminars in his long career. The Sheriff believes the members of the Department are what make him a good Sheriff. Cortland County has a population of 49,000 and an area of 502 square miles.
