New York State Sheriffs' Association - It's all about the kids!

Welcome to the new website of the New York State Sheriffs’ Association Institute

We hope that you find the Sheriffs’ Institute website an enjoyable visit and a visit you will enjoy making on a regular basis. We intend to keep the website fresh with articles and photographs. We are committed to making the Sheriffs’ Institute website a venue that will keep sheriff’s offices, the law enforcement community, our honorary members and our many friends up to date on the work we are doing at the Sheriffs’ Institute.

Our flagship program is the Sheriffs’ Summer Camp for economically disadvantaged children. This summer the doors to the camp will open for the 33rd time as we will welcome over 800 campers. I believe the best way you can appreciate the camp program is by looking at the pictures. On the home page there’s a nice slide show that presents an opportunity for you to get a feel for what the Sheriffs’ Camp is all about.

We very much want this website to be a venue that communicates the work of the Sheriffs’ Institute as well as the work that occurs in the Offices of the Sheriffs throughout New York State. To accomplish that, we know we have to keep the website exciting and refreshing. I hope you will become a regular visitor.
On a website housekeeping matter - now that the website is live, the technical people take over and have to put a “overlay content management” program over the website which will allows us to make website changes and updates with the ease of a couple of mouse clips. This is critical to the goal I outlined earlier to keep the Sheriffs’ Institute website fresh and a place that you’ll visit frequently.

This “overlay content management” is a process that takes two weeks to complete. While that technologic procedure is taking place, we will not be able to make any updates to the website. So, between now and April 1st you will not see any website updates. After April 1st please look for updates and fresh content on a regular basis.
